Targeted hair follicle - Anagen Phase
Hair has 3 stages -
Anagen, Catagen and Telogen. Anagen is
the active phase of
hair growth during which time there will be abundant melanin.
Catagen is the growing phase of the hair while telogen is the
dormant phase of the hair. The telogen phase has almost no melanin. The treatment must be
done while the hair is in the Anagen phase.

Active Treatment
The wavelength,
pulse width and the energy levels are selected by the doctors,
depending on the skin type and hair density. A layer of cold gel is
applied over the targeted area and the treatment is initiated.

Hair
follicle heats up
The DIODE laser elevates the temperature of the
hair which, in turn, conducts heat to the follicle. The temperature in
the hair follicle rises within 0.02 sec. Since only the melanin in the hair
follicle is targeted, the epidermis is not affected. This causes
damage to the germinative cells of the hair follicle
which are
responsible for new hair growth.

Follicle (hair) cools down
By this time
(approximately 0.1 sec) the destroyed hair follicle also cools down.
The destroyed hair follicles
are eliminated by a natural physiologic process, resulting in
long-term epilation.
