Hair has 3 stages -
Anagen, Catagen and Telogen.
Anagen is
the active phase of
hair growth during which time there will be abundant melanin.
It is during this phase when hair removal treatments must be
targeted. For
optimum results, the hair should be black in color and coarse .
Catagen is the growing phase of the hair while telogen is the
dormant phase of the hair. The telogen phase has almost no melanin.
Treatments done during this phase might not be able to destroy the
hair bulb.

The wavelength, pulse width and
the energy levels are adjusted based on the melanin content of the targeted
hair and surrounding skin. The DIODE LASER precisely targets the hair
follicle without damaging the surrounding epidermis. The DIODE LASER elevates the
temperature of the hair which, in turn, conducts heat to the follicle. This
causes damage to the germinative cells of the hair follicles, which are responsible for
new hair growth. The damaged hair follicles are
eliminated by a natural physiologic process, resulting in long-term
epilation. Since hair grows at different stages, permanent hair removal will
require at least 4 - 7 visits, each about 3 - 4 weeks apart.
The DIODE Hair Removal System can also treat ingrown hair, a common condition among many
Asians. The system with its patented Chill Tip® technology
allows more aggressive targeting of melanin in the hair shaft while
protecting the surrounding skin from related thermal damage. This allows the
treatment of even the most sensitive skin.
